YUI --- Tomorrow's Way

I love this song so much! Very nice melody, nice voice, everything about this music is so great. The video clip is also awesome... Love YUI!!

The Kanji is taken from: http://lyricwiki.org/YUI:Tomorrow%27s_Way
And credit goes to Kiwi Musume for the romaji and english translation of this song: http://www.kiwi-musume.com/lyrics/yui/frommetoyou/tomorrowsway.htm

Kanji:

I’m a baby 泣きたくもなる
手に入れるための
傷みなら so good

I’m a baby 泣きたくもなる
手に入れるための
傷みなら so good

誰かの言葉に つまづきたくない
惑わされたくない…

明日もきっと 輝いている
幼き日にもどらなくていい
Tomorrow’s way of my life 怖がりだけど
引き返せない道に立ってる

叶える為 生まれてきたの
幼き日々に描いた宇宙
I’m a baby 泣いたりしない
手に入れるため
傷みなら so good

Romaji:
Ima wo kowashite shimaitai
Ima ni sugaritsuite itai
Jibun no koto wa wakaranai

Yarinaoseru hazu nai yo
Shiranai machi ni kakurete mitemo
Mado goshi ni tada ima wo omou

Nigedashitai shoudou kara
Nigedasu made no koujitsu ni mayou

Chigireta kioku wo tadoreba
Ano koro ni datte modoreru
Itsuka no shounen mitai ni

Kanaeru tame umarete kita no
Osanaki hibi ni egaita uchuu
I'm a baby nakitaku mo naru
Te ni ireru tame no
Itami nara so good

Ikiru koto ga tatakai nara
Kachimake mo shikata ga nai koto
Sonna koto kurai wakatte iru yo

Nakidashitai shougeki kara
Hashiridashita asu e to kodou ga sawagu

Massugu ni ikite yukitai
Tada massugu ni ikite itai
Ano hi no shounen mitai ni

Kanaeru tame umarete kita no
Osanaki hibi ni kanjita kokyuu
I'm a baby nakitaku mo naru
Te ni ireru tame no
Itami nara so good

Dareka no kotoba ni tsumazukitakunai
Madowasaretakunai...

Ashita mo kitto kagayaite iru
Osanaki hibi ni modoranakute ii
Tomorrow's way of my life kowagari dakedo
Hikikaesenai michi ni tatteru

Kanaeru tame umarete kita no
Osanaki hibi ni egaita uchuu
I'm a baby naitari shinai
Te ni ireru tame no
Itami nara so good

English Translation:
I want to destroy the moment
I want to cling to the moment
I don’t understand myself

Of course I can’t do it over
Even when I try to hide in an unfamiliar town
I just think about the present going on outside my window

I want to run away from my impulses
But before I can, my excuses get in the way

If I follow my shattered memories
I can even go back to that time
Like a boy one day

I was born to live up to
The universe I imagined as a child
I'm a baby, I want to cry
The pain it takes to get it
Is so good

If life is a battle
Then we can’t help whether we win or lose
That much I know

My heart is pounding out of control from running towards tomorrow
From the shock that made me want to cry

I want to live a straight life
I just want to live a straight life
Like that boy that day

I was born to live up to
The universe I imagined as a child
I'm a baby, I want to cry
The pain it takes to get it
Is so good

I don’t want to stumble over someone’s words
I don’t want to be led astray…

Tomorrow, too, will surely sparkle
It doesn’t matter if I can’t go back to my childhood days
I’m scared of tomorrow’s way of my life
But I’m standing in a path I can’t go back down

I was born to live up to
The universe I imagined as a child
I'm a baby, I want to cry
The pain it takes to get it
Is so good

Poor Blog

Poor blog? Yes this is a poor blog... The last update I did on this blog was on April 19th, 2009... Today is August 23rd, 2009... It's been more than 4 months! I wonder, why every time I make a new blog, I always end up neglecting it? Well, I love to write, especially blogs. It helps me to practice my English, to share my stories to many friends, etc... I do have the time to write, but sometimes I just feel like I'm too lazy to write. Maybe that's the reason?

Anyway, this is already a new semester. More importantly, this is my last year! I'm going to graduate soon! Yes, I've spent 3 years here, I'd really like to graduate soon! I'm so excited, especially after seeing so many pictures of the 2005 batch during their graduation day... I keep saying that my time will come soon... Gotta be more serious... But I will always be who I am, lazy and love to play! Mwahahaha!!! Every time I think about the judgement day, I feel terrible, knowing that I still have many things I've forgotten about chemistry... I wonder how will it be later, I hope it will go smoothly... Now I must start thinking about my final project... What will I do for the final project? I still don't know the topic...

Well, after those crazy-hectic-6th semester, which I apparently succeeded in passing it through, this semester is a new, relaxing semester.. Even though I'm taking 22 SKS, I still have so many free time! Of course, 4 SKS out of 22 SKS was the final project, so having so much "free time" isn't really free actually... So, those subjects I am currently taking are:
  • 4 SKS Final Project
  • 3 SKS Chemical Laboratory Management; By: Ms. Djulia Onggo and Mr. M. Bachri Amran
  • 3 SKS Advanced Organic Synthesis; By: Ms. Euis Holisotan Hakim
  • 3 SKS Organic Chemistry of Natural Products; By: Ms. Euis Holisotan Hakim
  • 3 SKS Mechanisms and Theories of Organic Reactions; By: Ms. Megawati Santoso and Ms. Rita Anggraini
  • 3 SKS "Kemurgi" Technology; By: Mr. Tatang Hernas
  • 3 SKS Processing Technology of Oils and Fats; By: Mr. Tirto Prakoso
I don't really know what "Kemurgi" is, but people said that it is a very good subject and the lecturer is a very good one. So, I think I'll take it :p The last two subjects are subjects from the Chemical Engineering major... I hope I can cope those two...

So, with so much free time, finally I can start my assistance days again! Yay! Last semester I didn't do any assistance; now is the time to make money again!!! Mwahahahaha!! I've become Ms. Mega's assistant for organic chemistry for pharmacy 2008, regular and international class; organic chemistry laboratory assistant for pharmacy international 2008 and for chemistry 2008.. What else? Hmmmm maybe I'll also become the quiz grader for 2009 batch; general chemistry laboratory assistant for 2009, physical chemistry laboratory assistant for chemistry 2007, and biochemistry laboratory assistant for pharmacy 2007... Well, if I have time to do all of those, I'll earn quite a lot of money by the end of semester! Mwahahahaha!!!

Recently, I've become a fan of ITB's internet service, sooo fast and it is so nice to download many things there. I've spent about 2 GB there, downloading many albums, videos, etc etc.. Until I don't know what to download next.. wahahaha...

Don't know what else to write, so maybe this post will be the last update, for several months?? Hahaha, I really hope I can update it more often... Now I have to make my assignment for the Processing Technology of Oils and Fats, make quiz questions for Ms. Mega to use later, make a letter to ask for an empty classroom to be used for Ms. Mega's class on September 2nd... Whew, still have many things to do, so I have to leave this blog (again), now... :p

Well, I've got a new signature for this blog. I'm bored with the old one, so I use this new signature from now on. Thanks sooo much to Nessa who has resized this signature into the size I wanted. I tried to resize it myself, but I failed, the picture becomes blur, etc etc... Such a failure...

Here goes! And bye for now! :p

To A Friend

Okay, so let me begin this post... It's been quite a while since my last post. This time, the post is dedicated for a friend of mine, who is also my ex :p I've promised to write this post since February, but I was sooo damn busy so I didn't have any time to write this. Sorry for the long postpone. Now that the Chemistry and Society subject is done, I have more time to relax and to write blogs.

So, her name is Raisa, a friend of mine that is currently studying in Australia. I am here to write many things about her, so let me start from our first meeting here. In the beginning of my third year in high school, I had a concert (piano concert) in Maranatha University that was held by my course place. I played Mozart, Rondo (not Rondo Alla Turca) from Piano Sonata No. 15 in C major KV 545, 3rd Movement. That time I met a friend of mine named Stevanie (I met her in the last piano concert during my first year in high school, long before this one concert). Because it was quite a long time, and I rather forgot Stevanie's face, I ask Raisa if she is Stevanie. Gheez, very embarresing... Unfortunately, I met the real Stevanie there. Haha, so I ask the real one, and we had a little chit chat that time. Then, Stevanie called Raisa, so all of us joined and had our chat together.

A few months after the concert, we met again in the science competition held by Parahyangan University. Pushing myself to ask, I ask her if she still remembered me. Well, after some little thinking, she said that she still remembered me from the concert. Good, if she didn't remember me, it would be another embarresing moment for me... That was our second meeting...

The third one is during the Medical Science Application Competition (MedSpin Competition) in Bandung and Surabaya. We met and we were in the same train during our trip back to Bandung. After that we added each other Friendster, sent messages, etc. And one of her friends matched us together and blah blah blah, she was so eager to match us.

Well, her hope came true because we started our relationship in March 4th 2006. Although it was only for a few months because of some problem. We stayed friends until now.

She is also here in ITB, taking the mathematics major, and she doubled with a major in Parahyangan University, International Relation. Well, questions always pops-out, "how did you manage your time?" "aren't you tired being in two majors at once?" etc. Should've made a FAQ in a website for that one because too many people asked that. I wasn't the one asked, but I also feel bored hearing those questions again and again.

So, you like it better in UnPar, don't you? She did very well in UnPar, and become one of the best student there. But in ITB, I may say you are very very not doing well here. I know that it's your father's enforcement that made you took the math subject in ITB. But I am sure you can do more and much better, if only you spare more of your time without doing those competitions you took.

Now you are in Australia, that's a good achievement. Hmm, you might failed to get the program to Australia last year, but this time you got that. Haha, how I wish I've ever gone somewhere outside this country... Well, congratulations for that, although I've already said that before. Good luck there, and get the best result you can!

Don't forget to bring me gifts from Australia ok?? Hahahah...

Unstable Emotion: I'm Getting Fucked Up With All Of These!!!

What a title isn't it??

Well, that has been my personal message (status) in my Yahoo messenger and MSN messenger since yesterday.
Most of my friends ask: "Why?", "What happen to you?", "Hey, your status was so scarying last night, what's wrong with you?", etc...
The answer is as simple as the question: "Because I feel like that. Damn it!"

This is the worst semester I've ever experienced. I took 23 SKS, and now I regret it. The subjects I am taking currently are:
  • 4 SKS Biochemistry II: Metabolism and Genetics Information; By: Ms. Fida Madayanti W.
  • 3 SKS Inorganic Chemistry III: Structure and Inorganic Reactivity; By: Mr. Bambang Prijamboedi & Mr. ISmUNaNdAr
  • 3 SKS Structure Elucidation; By: Mr. Yana M. Syah, Mr. Zeily Nurachman; Mr. ISmUNaNdAr, and (in memoriam) Ms. Sadijah Achmad
  • 3 SKS Physical Organic Chemistry; By: Ms. Ciptati and (in memoriam) Ms. Sadijah Achmad
  • 3 SKS Environmental Chemistry; By: Mr. Hidayat Mc. and Mr. M. Ali Zulfikar
  • 2 SKS Special Project; By: Mr. Veinardi Suendo
  • 2 SKS Research Plan; By: Mr. Achmad Rochliadi and Ms. Rita Anggraini
  • 2 SKS Self-Potential Management; By: Ms. Rr. Sri Wahyuni
  • 1 SKS Chemistry and Society; By: Ms. Megawati Santoso

The total is 9 subjects... AM I CRAZY OR WHAT??? WHAT MAKES ME THINK I CAN TAKE THOSE THINGS ALTOGETHER AND SURVIVE THIS SEMESTER WITH GOOD MARKS???
Well, even though Chemistry and Society, Self-Potential Management, Research Plan, and Special Project (total 7 SKS) do not require any formal exam, but the assignments are quite nuts!!!

For the UTS mark, Self-Potential Management makes us do a simple paper about ourselves. Ok, it is still easy.

Special Project; we have to do proposals and do the research in a short time. Ok, my research is done right now, only a few characterization left for IR spectroscopy, and NMR specroscopy.

Research Plan... This subject is one of the hardest to follow. Every week, there will be an assignment that will have to be sent to the mailing list. The assignments are not so simple. Making proposals, search for international journals, make executive summary of the journals, search for journals in most libraries in ITB, etc. Damn, it is really a tiring subject...

Chemistry and Society is the one that irritates me the most... Every week, I have to attend the class from about 1.30 pm until (the latest) 6.30 pm. The lecturer is a guest lecturer and different every week. Ms. Mega, my wali takes the responsibility of this class. As usual, she is very strict, NO ONE CAN BE LATE... Ok, the class is fun, I like the class and I got many knowledge from that class. BUT, we have to make the summary of each class. 10 pages each summary, font is Trebuchet MS size 11, single spaced, margins 2 cm equally. From six papers, 3 of them, that I've made, I made them WITHOUT SLEEPING!!! I'm so sleepy every friday morning, every saturday I sleep the whole day, every sunday I will have to do my assignments again for monday. Again, it's ok because I write the papers in english (thanks a lot to my mom who has been teaching me english ever since I was only 5 years old), so Ms. Mega always gives me an A++++ (yes with 4 + in that).
Here comes the irritating part... One day, I wanted to print the 3rd assignment. I queued at the printing place for quite a while. At 1.00 I finally had the chance to print, BUT unfortunately the lights suddenly went off. *poof*... And I cannot print there... Panicked, I ran to the Oceanography building to print, no luck, it was still closed at that time. I ran back to my building, asking for papers and printed them in the printing place my building (which at that time was ran out of paper, so we have to bring our own paper)... The printer was sooo damn slow!!!!! FOR GOD'S SAKE, CHANGE THOSE STUPID PRINTERS WILL YOU????? At 1.40 I ran to class, but the class has already begun, I managed to snuck in but then Ms. Mega realized I and one of my friend were snucking in. She was angry and by the end of the class, she talked much about that. Nothing to do, whatever my excuse was, I was still late that day. By the end of the class, because the 1st assignment wasn't so good, she asked us to take back the papers that was collected that day. AAAAAAARRRGGGH!!!!!! If I didn't even bother to print, she wouldn't know that I did not collect the paper that day, and I wouldn't be late that day!!!!!!
And yesterday, April 06th, 2009. The marks for three assignments from Chemistry and Society came out. Because I and several friends were late, our maximum marks will be AB only. Except if we ask for additional assignment to make our marks become A again. OMG, I really cannot endure anymore... This subject is only 1 SKS but it feels like 4 SKS!!!!
Every friday morning, most honors students come late, or skip the class. The first class on friday is Biochemistry... I feel sorry for Ms. Fida. I really do. The last time a student came late, she was angry and asked "why are you late?" Well, since the late one was an honors student, she answered "I woke up late, I slept at 1 am last night because I was working on Chemistry and Society assigntment" There goes her patience........ Unfortunately, most lecturers have been complaining about that subject, which every honors student makes the subject a more priority than other subjects even though it is only 1 SKS... Well yeah we think so also, we are tired also... Last time, we didn't learn for Biochemistry and Environmental Chemistry exam (total 7 SKS), just to finish the Chemistry and Society paper that is only 1 SKS... WE SACRIFICE 7 SKS JUST FOR THE SAKE OF 1 SKS, AND NOW MY MAXIMUM MARK IS AB UNLESS I ASKED FOR AN ADDITIONAL ASSIGNMENT?????????????? GET REAL DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ms. Fida herself almost looked like she was about to cry that time. I really really feel sorry for her. We didn't mean to make her angry and sad like that because by doing that, we seem like underestimating her and her subject. Her subject is the highest SKS, 4 SKS!!!
Now that this Chemistry and Society class has ended, and only 1 paper left (well, two papers for me thanks to my lateness that day), we are really hoping we can focus on our studies now.

Environmental Chemistry was a mess, no one could do the exam well. It was such a strange subject. I do not want to get a D for this subject like I got for Environmental Science in my first year.

Inorganic Chemistry didn't turn out well. The marks have been announced, most students get marks below 60 including me of course... Damn it... We didn't have enough time during the exam, which was purposely done by our lecturers. Only gave us 110 minutes to do 5 numbers, each contains minimum 4 points (a, b, c, d)...

Structure Elucidation wasn't good also, number one is wrong, number two is half wrong, and I don't know what happen to my number three and four... I just hope it turns out well...

So now, I write it once again:
I'M GETTING FUCKED UP WITH ALL OF THESE!!!!!!!!!

I really need some holiday... Even this week's holiday will not be sufficient enough for me, because I will have to do the Chemistry and Society papers, two biochemistry reports, etc...

I am a very patient person... I never get angry for just a simple case... But, my patience also has its limit... Now I am at my limit... That's why I said that my emotion is unstable, I can blow up suddenly... Don't play with my patience, I hate it when I have to be angry... Damn it!!!!!!

Tomorrow I have Physical Organic Chemistry exam, and I don't even know what it is about... Trying to learn... But I still have the inorganic journal for tomorrow's lab class... GHEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M GETTING FUCKED UP WITH ALL OF THESE!!!!!!!!!

レミオロメン --- 粉雪

Well, since I have been very melancholic these past few days, now I'm gonna post something melancholic also... This song is quite a while, and it fits well with my mood right now... It is the Konayuki (粉雪) by Remioromen (レミオロメン). A soundtrack for the movie: 1 Liter of Tears.

Konayuki also translated as Powdered Snow... Fits perfectly for a snowy heart as mine right now...

Translation and romaji:

Translation:

powdered-snow, within the revolving seasons
we always miss each other
although we got separated within the crowd,
we look into the same sky
blown in the wind,
we feel the same chills

everything about you,
guess I don’t really know
even so, from one hundred million
I still found you
although i’m not really sure,
i’m seriously thinking about it

if slight quarrels may lose our laughters
then we must not live in the same moment of time
if we can’t be honest to each other
happiness and sadness are just empty

powdered-snow, until our hearts become white-dyed
let us meet so that we can share our loneliness

I want to put my ears into your heart
to hear the voice that gently leads into the depth
I want to go descend, and let us meet once again there

although I say that I want to understand,
but I can only stroke the surface of my words
even your hands that have become cold,
only by holding them tightly, we were connected

powdered-snow, even too fragile before the eternity
fell and became stain upon the rough asphalt

powdered-snow, in such time unreliable, shaking my heart
even so, I want to keep on protecting you…

powdered-snow, until our hearts become white-dyed
wrap up our loneliness, return it to the sky…

Chemistry and Society???

OMG, I've been doing this Chemistry and Society 1st assignment since yesterday...

Imagine the rules:
  1. write 10 pages full about last week lecture, not less, but more is welcomed.
  2. typed, font: Trebuchet MS, size: 10, single-spaced.
  3. all margins are set to 2 cm.
  4. if you use any picture, use it as small as possible. Maximum pictures allowed is 2 pages.
  5. also write a review, maximum 2 pages about the guest lecturer last week.

OMG, this is so tiring...
But somehow it is fun!
Hahaha~~~

I must finish this paper tonight... Until now I just written 3 pages... Still 7 pages to go...
After this is done, I will publish it here... hahahahaha...

Back to work!

New Semester, New Problems, New Confusions

Welcome to 6th semester!

I've just left 5th semester for some days, suddenly the 6th has already started! Well, that's the consequence for having exams so late. Last exam only differ 3 weeks from the new semester, gheez... It wasn't even felt like holiday. Just a couple of resting days and then...*poof*...the new semester has already begun!

New semester, brings along new problems of course. They're just like a packet of misery that cannot be separated wahahahaha... At the beginning of reregistration, I was sooo damn happy. Why? Because the schedule was very very pretty! Of all the 9 subjects I took, none of them is crashed (huh i don't know the right term for that) as in none of them is held on the same time! That's the first time in my life! That's so great, 9 subjects, none is held on the same time. I was so releived, and happy... I thought it was a good start for a new semester...

But then...

Suddenly...

A very "sweet" person in MKDU that I don't even know who is it, changed the schedule of the "Komunikasi Pembangunan" subject I took. Unfortunately, the new schedule is now crashed with the Structure and Inorganic Reactivity. The sweet beginning of the new semester, has now shattered into many pieces... Haih so exaggerating... But I do feel like that. Now I have to change the subject into "Manajemen Potensi Diri" subject, which I don't even know what it is like. Only my friends who have taken the subjects before said that the lecturer is so kind and gives A easily. So, I think I'll take that one., 23 SKS total.. Damn MKDU...

Another problem that brings along another confusion is the Proyek Khusus (Special Project) subject. This subject is a must for the honors program students, so I must take it whether I like it or not. The main goal of this subject is to make us easier later in our final project. We've already known the techniques, so final project won't be that hard. But, this means we have to go to the lab often. Well, it's nice, feels like a real scientist here. Hahahaha... But then, we've gotta make the proposal first, etc etc... I'm taking the Organic Chemistry Synthesis speciality. My topic for the project is about OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes). My task is to find a good compound to be synthesized for application in the OLED. Now, the problem is: What compound should I synthesize for OLED??? I've been searching for international journals, and found many interesting compounds. Another problem is: Will I get the appropriate funds for doing that research??? Well, I hope so...

Still got some more problems here. Problems won't just leave me until there. This semester, I got so many subjects that require me to do presentations. I don't mind presentations, only the preparation for the presentations are so complicated. Also, I got some subjects that force me to write at least some papers and reports every week... Well, that's what I got for taking 9 subjects only to gain the total 23 SKS for this semster... Swt... I also become the grader for the lecturers, which means I have to check and give marks to 1st year students for the quizes they took. The payment is quite satisfying, so I'll take it hohoho...

Conclusions:
Another semester of "lack of sleeping" is ahead...
Another semester of "papers everyday" is ahead..
Another semester of "misery" is ahead...

Time to get up, sleepyhead!!!
Time to get up and do my tasks!!!

Ganbatte everyone!!!

Relieved

Now I feel somehow relieved... I can peacefully let the 5th semester go away from my mind... The marks are announced and I got GPA 3.74 for this semester. Well, a 0.1 decrease from last semester, but still it's a relief that I didn't get a very sharp decrease. I don't really know how I get that GPA =,=

Since I don't really understand the topics this semester, I just use my feeling when I do my exam. Suddenly I got A for Structure and Chemical Bonds, Spectrometric Analysis, Organic Synthesis, and Chemistry Principia... Organic isn't hard, so I do believe I can get an A. Also my thanks go to the 07's Pharmacy students I've said in the earlier posts, for asking me to give you tuitition for Organic, I love Organic Chemistry. Hohohoho~~~ The 2nd exam for Spectrometric Analysis is quite okay, but I didn't think it helps so much until I can get an A. Structure and Chemical Bonds, I think Mr. Muhamad remembers me and my friends that join his short semester class for Computational Nanoscience, so we got A for this subject; but still my first exam is not so good. I left the number 3d on that exam and lose several points, that is because I didn't see that the number 3d was even there!! Damn... 2nd exam I do it with my feelings and logic thoroughly. Chemistry Principia, the strange subject suddenly turn out A. Again, I don't know where it comes from... Well, I just have to thank the lecturers for giving me an A. Hohoho...

Strangely, the ones I thought I will get an A, such as Civics and Stereochemistry, turn out to get B (for Civics) and AB (for Stereochemistry)... Gheez... That Civics subject is really really strange one. I don't know where the B comes from, and why I only got B for such a subject... Stereochemistry I think I can do it well, but my 1st exam isn't that good... But hey, I did my group presentation all by myself that day!! Since my group friend was going to Jakarta and left me alone with the unmade slides and presentation topics. Please respect my will to try =,=

For the Transition Metals and Catalysts subject and Scientific Maths subject, I got an AB. Those two are the most logical marks for me (well, Organic Synthesis also logical since I understand it, but these two I don't understand), an AB is what I deserve for these subjects. Why? Because I don't like maths, and the Transition Metals and Catalysts subject forced me to memorize the catalyst mechanisms; one think I can never do: MEMORIZING...

The total is I got A for 13 SKS; AB for 8 SKS; and B for 2 SKS... Hohohoho deanlist, here I come to get you again! So, happy with these marks (although a bit disappointed for the 0.1 decrease)... Now I'm confused of what to take next semester... Should I take an optional subject from MKDU? Or from Chemical Engineering? Or from other courses? Pharmacy? Industrial Engineering?Don't know which one is better... I'm just hoping next semester is much better than 5th semester. And I gotta force myself to fight for 6th semester... Ganbatte everyone!!! Jia you!!! Add oil!!! Aza-aza fighting!!! :p

Yui --- Good-bye Days

YUI!!! I love Yui! Her songs are very nice to hear, and she's a cute girl, Japanese girl :D
A composer and a singer. Yui has already launched some albums and many singles. Two of her songs, Life and Rolling Star become the opening and ending song of the anime Bleach.

Yui also played in a movie, titled Taiyou no Uta. In this movie, Yui becomes Amane Kaoru (雨音 薫), a 16 years old girl that is suffered from a skin illness called Xeroderma Pigmentosum, an illness that can cause someone to die from being exposed to the sun. This is because of the deficiency of the DNA repair ability to repair damage caused by UV rays. Here, Yui sings a song titled Good-bye Days. It is a nice song, and the meaning is also very good. The first time I hear it, I don't feel anything special, but after watching the movie, this song quite a sad song I think. Sad and touching if you relate it to the story line. So, here goes, the lyric and the translations :)

Yui - Good-bye Days
だからいま 会いにゆく そう決めたんだ
ポケットの この曲を 君に聴かせたい

そっとヴォリュームを上げて 確かめてみたよ

oh Good-bye days いま 変わる気がする 昨日までに so long
かっこよくない優しさがそばにあるから
~with you

片方の イヤフォンを 君に渡す
ゆっくりと 流れ込む この瞬間

うまく愛せていますか? たまに迷うけど

oh Good-bye days いま 変わり始めた 胸の奥 alright
かっこよくない優しさがそばにあるから
~with you

できれば 悲しい 想いなんてしたくない
でもやってくるでしょ?
そのとき 笑顔で Yeah hello!! my friend なんてさ
言えたならいいのに…

同じ唄を 口ずさむ時 そばにいて I wish
かっこよくない優しさに会えてよかったよ

…Good-bye days

Translation
So I'm going to go see you right now, that's what I've decided
I want to have you listen to this song, that I have in my pocket

Quietly, I turned up the volume, to make sure that it was there

Oh good-bye days, right now I've got the feeling that things are going to change; so long to everything up until yesterday
An uncool kindness is at my side
~With you

I pass one ear phone over to you
And this moment slowly streams over to you

Can you really love me? Even though I sometimes lose my way

Oh good-bye days, right now things inside my heart have begun to change, alright
An uncool kindness is at my side
~With you

If possible, I'd like to not have sad feelings
But they'll come to me, won't they?
In those times, it would be good, if only I could say
"Yeah, hello! My friend", with a smile

When we both are humming the same song, I wish for you to be by my side
I'm glad that we were able to meet each other, with such an uncool kindness

... Good-bye days

End of Fifth Semester and Second Holiday Coming...

Yeah, the second holiday is coming... After the first holiday that seemed to have passed in such a short time...

Two more exams and then I can say good bye to my 5th semester, such a semester full of boredom, laziness, sleepiness, and other kinds of -ness... This is the worst semester I've ever had, I think... This semester my GPA will decrease, I know that; and it such a pain, dammit... But what to do, I really really don't understand most of the subjects I took in this semester... For example: Spectrometric Analysis; Structure and Chemical Bonding; Scientific Mathematics; Transition Metals and Catalysis; Chemistry Principia... 5 of 8 subjects I took, most of them I don't know what they are talking about. Why? Is it something wrong with my brain here? I don't think so, because I still can do some of them, but most of them are really weird ones. Or is it that I am too tired because of taking 23 SKS this semester? Maybe, but still I'm not that tired that I cannot play etc etc...

Is it the lecturer? Well, I don't want to say so, but I cannot really understand what the Spectrometric Analysis lecturer says. She teachs here and there, jump here and jump there, got really sleepy in the class most of the time... Structure and Chemical Bonding, the lecturer mostly talk to the laptop, write everything in the laptop. He is one of my favourite lecturer, but this time his teaching is cannot be understood. Scientific Mathematics, I never really like mathematics, and this Scientific Mathematics uses the 3 dimensional analysis, something that is really my weakness. I need a long time to analyze something that is described in a 3 dimension room, like the vectors, matrics, etc etc. Transition Metals and Catalysis, the Inorganic Chemistry. This subject learns about the transition metals, how it reacts, how it binds with other compounds to make a complex compunds, how the d orbital split into several energy levels and become paramagnetic/diamagnetic, how transition metals can become catalysts and the mechanism of catalysis. This subject is really full of memorizing things, and I'm very weak in memorizing things. I cannot understand this subject well. Chemistry Principia... If only this subject isn't a must-take subject for honors program students, I definitely won't take this subject. I don't really know what this is about... Every class I attend only talks about things in the world and their relations with chemistry. Suddenly the examination question ask us to analyze the Indonesian energy supply, the new energy sources that Indonesia can use, etc etc and then we had to write an essay for that thing... How should I know??? I'm not an energy expert. Those in minings majors and industrial engineering majors should be the one to deal with this. This is not a simple matter that can be analyzed easily and in a short time (for less than 1.5 hours) and made into an essay...

Now comes the most determining part. Is it ITB that makes it like this? For some reason, yeah... I'm not making ITB the scapegoat, but it really made me have lots of thinking this semester. The change of curriculum this year really really makes so many changes. Most of the lecturers and departments are not ready for this change. Chemistry department is included. Suddenly, some of the courses for 3rd years are moved to 2nd years. Some of them also omitted and become the optional subjects. New system for marks... Now the mark AB and BC is added instead of only A, B, C, D, and E like the previous semesters. This system is somehow plays part in decreasing my GPA... Usually with my marks really really near to A from B (about 74 of 75 or sometimes 84 of 85, depends on the subject) if the lecturer is kind, I will be given a A for that subject... But now? If I got that mark, I won't get an A, I will get an AB instead. This will decrease my GPA for about 0,09 (if it is 4 SKS), this isn't a simple matter... Even though the ones that get B maybe changed to AB (increase 0,09) but still, it doesn't really worthed for me.

I really really got depressed thinking about this. To keep myself in the honors program (as I have written in the earlier post), I need to have GPA at least 3.50 in the end of 6th semester. If I cannot get that GPA, then I can kiss my honors program good bye. If this semester my GPA decrease too sharp, the 6th semester will be a very very difficult semester and I must work harder in the 6th semester...

I counted my mark expectations for this semester... If it everything goes the way I predicted, my GPA will only be 3.43 this semester... GHEEZZZ!!! The 0,41 decrease from last semester, it is a very very very sharp decrease... But if miracle happens, and I hope it will happen to me, I want to get at least 3.50 this semester. So next semester won't be too difficult for me. This really really is a big and heavy burden for me...

Well, nothing I can do right now... The two other exams are coming soon, got to do the best for both, or my GPA will decrease even more... Time to learn, just for a few more days... And holiday will come!

Hopefully this holiday I don't have to go to campus and lab everyday for the analytical project (again for the honors program, we got a special task to analyze something in real world with the knowledge we've learned)... I know it will be fun. But imagining that I will have to make proposal for the research is not that fun... It is up to our lecturer for this, hope that she forgot this project and let us free :p Hopefully, because we really need to take a rest after this long semester...

Il Divo ft. Tony Braxton --- The Time of Our Lives

This is a very very good and optimistic song... I can say this one song is suitable for my 小妹妹 :p Think optimistic every time, life is much better with it. Recommended to be downloaded and listened to... Download it here: http://www.4shared.com/file/56924045/bc611d5f/The_Time_Of_Our_Lives_-_Ll_Divo_And_Tony_Braxton.html

Song text (and I got the translation below):
There was a dream
Long time ago
There was a dream
Destined to grow

For the lifetime
Of progress
That runs here today
Will go all the way

Hey hey
Feels like we're having
The time of our lives
We'll find the glory
In the end, for all that we are
For all that we are

Hoy es el dia
Es la ocasion de triunfar
Para hacer realidad el destino que soñabamos conseguir
Una vida de lucha nos trajo hasta aqui
Y llegare hasta el final (Heaven knows...)

’Cause it feels like we’re having the time of our lives
Juntos, unidos, triunfara nuestro deseo de ser el mejor
’Cause it feels like we’re having the time of our lives
toda la gloria, junto a mi,
La hora llego de la verdad
El momento llego

Y ya nunca jamas lo podre olvidar...

'Cause it feels like we’re having ('cause it feels...like we're having...)
The time of our lives
toda la gloria, junto a mi,
La hora llego
La hora llego (Oh!...)

We'll find the glory (Find the glory...)
we'll be there (In the end...)
For all that we are
For everything that we wanna be and all that we are
For the time of our lives

For the time of our lives...

Translation for Spanish Part:
There was a dream
Long time ago
There was a dream
Destined to grow

For the lifetime
Of progress
That runs here today
Will go all the way

Hey hey
Feels like we're having
The time of our lives
We'll find the glory
In the end, for all that we are
For all that we are

Today is the day
It is the opportunity to succeed
To achieve the target we dreamed achieve
A life of struggle brought us up here
And it is up to the final (Heaven knows ...)

'Cause it feels like we're having the time of our lives
Together, united, our desire to triumph to be the best
'Cause it feels like we're having the time of our lives
all the glory, along with me,
The hour of truth came
The time came

And you can never forget ...

'Cause it feels like we're having (' cause it feels like we're having ... ...)
The time of our lives
all the glory, along with me,
The time came
The time came (Oh!...)

We'll find the glory (Find the glory ...)
we'll be there (In the end ...)
For all that we are
For everything that we want to be and all that we are
For the time of our lives

For the time of our lives ...

Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor Op. 18

This particular concerto has been one of many concertos I like the most. Composed by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninov (Сергей Васильевич Рахманинов), a Russian composer who lived in 1873-1943. You can see the picture of him beside. He was not only a composer, but also one of the finest pianist that time, and the last great representative of Russian late romanticism in classical music. The musics he composed was a product of his temperament, this was admitted by himself; and on another occassion he said:
"The new kind of music seems to create not from the heart but from the head. Its composers think rather than feel. They have not the capacity to make their works exalt—they meditate, protest, analyze, reason, calculate and brood, but they do not exalt."
This is what makes his musics so great to listen; well, at least for me. Some of his songs, have keep me alive until today :p Not exaggerating, this is true. It's nice to hear his songs during depression moments, keeping me calm and conscious hahaha...

Well, the composition for Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor Op. 18 is a bit historical. It was composed after Rachmaninov was cured from a nervous breakdown. The breakdown happened to him because of poor critical reviews of his Symphony No. 1 which he himself described the performance as "indescribable torture" and destroyed the manuscripts afterward. Then, he went into a state called "writer's block", this is a phenomenon involving temporary loss of ability to begin or continue writing, usually due to lack of inspiration or creativity, where he cannot continue composing songs anymore.

But then, a physician named Nikolai Dahl took Rachmaninov into treatment for three months. Supported by Rachmaninov's family and friends, he managed to recover from the breakdown . Greatful and thankful for Dahl's help, Rachmaninov started composing again; the Piano Concerto No. 2, a concerto dedicated to Dahl, was composed.

This concerto is divided into 3 movements, they are:
I. Moderato: C minor (length ~ 11:00)
II. Adagio Sostenuto: C minor -> E major (length ~ 12:00)
III. Allegro Scherzando: E manjor -> C minor -> C major (length ~ 11:30)
Total time of the concerto is approximately 34 minutes, 30 seconds depends on the performance speed.

My favorite movements are the first and the third movements. They are so beautiful and slow yet very vibrant and spectacular...

This song, is good to hear for people who loves romantic classical music. You may download it at:

You'll need to register but it's for free, so take it!

The musical score can be downloaded from:

But it is not for free, so you need to pay for it...

Enjoy this beautiful piece of music...

5th going to be 6th...

Mmmm yeah 5th going to be 6th... But this isn't about age, I'm already 20, no longer 5 years old. (a 5 years old kid wouldn't be writing a blog like this)

5th going to be 6th... That's the semester I'm in right now, 5th semester, going to be 6th semester soon, because this is already the end of 5th semester.

Hopefully the 6th won't be as bad as the 5th. I really really became a lazy bump this time, after one year (3rd and 4th semester) working hard until my flesh and bones were torn apart (wahahaha what an exaggeration...) finally I'm able to join the honors program.

The honors program is a program, for chemistry major only, in which we are able to continue to the master degree for only 1 year after finished the bachelor degree. Of course, the requirements for the continuity to the master degree is not that easy. I have to get GPA above 3.50 when I graduate later. Right now, my GPA overall is 3.44, quite close to 3.50, just hoping that this semester GPA won't decrease... Have to keep my GPA above 3.60 every semester to get GPA above 3.50 in the end of 8th semester.

Aarrgh so many burdens right now. The laziness is haunting me... On my 3rd and 4th semester, I'm able not to sleep for several days, doing those stupid assignments and stupid reports for 4 lab experiments every single week! And now? I need more than 6 hours of sleeping everyday! I cannot do my assignments well, my ability to write reports has become worse than the semester before (although only 2 lab classes this semester), don't have to spirit to learn the lessons (though I've never really learnt before, mwahahahaha~~). Just the desire to sleep and play every single day and minutes. Too tired I think. And not only me that feel this way. All of my friends also feel the same! The 5th semester is the most laziest semester of all. Dammit... Why should the laziness come at the times like this??? Right when we really need the spirit to fight in this semester???

I really cannot stand this semester anymore, I'm really glad this semester has reached to its end. Hopefully, really really hoping, the 6th semester will be much better than this one. Anyway, thank's to the pharmacy 2007 student (Wiwin, Vanesha, Charlie), because you asked me to teach you, that way I can learn my organic chemistry through you, my exam is getting closer and closer also... And my thank's also goes to the pharmacy 2008 international students (Wen, Lai, Tzu, Tian, Nara) same reason, that's also because you asked me to teach you, that way I can learn my physical and inorganic chemistry through you... All of you really helped me in learning, either way, I'm not gonna learn anything this semester... Very very lazy, lazier and lazier each day... Need some time to rest from these things...

Twilight

Sunday... This Sunday is special, because this Monday is a holiday, so we can really really enjoy this Sunday to the fullest! I went to my cousin's house, Nessa :p Arrived there about 10.30 or so, met Evy also. We directly go to Ciwalk, and watch Twilight!!

Yeah this Twilight is a really good story, written by Stephenie Meyer, brilliant work! It's about a girl, named Isabella Swan, that fall in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen. This saga consists of 4 books and some additional chapters. The books already published are:
Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn

Those books tell the story from Bella's point of view, while another (I think not yet published, but already spreading everywhere in the internet) is telling the story from Edward's point of view, it is the Midnight Sun book.

I love this saga, the story is very interesting. I've only read until the 2nd book, the 3rd is still in progress. The only thing that interrupts me from finishing the 3rd book is the stupid assignments, and some exams!! Damn, I could lost the joy of reading that book thanks to the assignments. This saga is highly recommended for you who loves romantic stories, and rather mystical stories. If I were asked to watch the movie once more, I would love to! Can never be bored with that movie.

I love Bella's Lullaby song, already got the music piece, hopefully I can find the time to learn it. Haven't touched the piano for quite a while now...

Okay, gotta go, gotta learn something for tomorrow's teaching, otherwise I will be very very embarrassing in front of them :p

For A Friend

Okay, maybe this post is already too late, and two of my friends already post this in their own blogs, but still I want to post it, because of several reasons. First, this is about a birthday of a friend. Second, this is also about knowing new friends. So yeah, I think this is worth being posted.

The birthday girl was Chee Shu Wen. Happy belated birthday now huh? Hehehe. It was on November, 29th 2008, Saturday. She asked me to come to her birthday about 2 weeks before, and I'm happy to come!

A few days after the invitation she told me that the ones going will include Andika, WJ, and AW. So we discuss for the present right away (Wenwen didn't answer when I asked her what she wants for her present =P). After through some discussions and decisions here and there, the 4 of us (they called us F4 later, strange huh?) decided to give a surprise for Wenwen. So about 12.00 that day, we quickly went to Kartika Sari to buy the cake. Lots of cake, but there wasnt any blueberry cake something like that, so we just bought the "looks so yummy" black forest cake, put it in the car baggage, cover it with jackets etc etc, so she if she ever needed to put something in the baggage, she wouldn't realize. After that I went to fetch them in front of Sheraton Hotel. Wait a few minutes, and saw them crossing the road without realizing my car was right beside them, hahaha. So I turned the car around and fetch them at where they were standing.

So there they are, standing beside the road. When my car came, they got in the car. Wen sat in front, behind me was Tzu, in the middle was Tian, and behind Wen was Lee Chin (hopefully I wrote your positions correctly, kinda forgot, because I was driving). And suddenly I hear chinese talking. OMG. Didn't even understand a word! 我不明白你说的话 (is this correct?). I can only understand a little hahaha. That's why I keep silent. Unfortunately they decided that I am a serious, silent person something like that, wew... They hadn't known me yet at that time, hehehe. So, then Wen said that we got to fetch a senior (for me a junior in campus, but senior in age haha), Pei Err that is. So Lee Chin led the way to Peierr's place, which is in the Tubagus street. To my surprise, I've already seen her before, in the organic lab. After that, we continued our long journey (long? oh gross =p) to the Paris van Java a.k.a PvJ.

Successfully passed the crazy traffic jam, we arrived at PvJ safe and sound. I searched for my favorite parking place, beside the Gramedia! I parked there and suddenly they said (forgot who said it, but I am sure Tzu is one of them because the sound came directly from behind me which was Tzu's seat, was it really u Tzu?) that they like my driving style. HUH??? I was surprised, didn't know that there actually are some people that likes my driving style. They said it like this if I'm not wrong: "Hey we like your driving!" "Yeah, you are so man when you drive". Hahahaha, what do u mean by the second one girls? Then when I'm not driving I become a woman huh? Hahahaha...

Then we got down, get in the PvJ through Gramedia and go upstairs with the escalator. There I heard Lee Chin said "很俄 很俄!" and also asked me "你要吃什么?"... Well, it was Wen's birthday, so I thought I would let her choose and just answer Lee Chin "不知道". And she clapped me! Hahaha, thanks Lee Chin, good to know that I can pronounce it correctly, thank you ^^... So we divided into two groups. Wen, Tzu, Lee Chin and me went to search for food while Tian and Err went to buy tickets for movies. After choosing The Duck King for our lunch, we went inside and wait for the others. Not a long waiting, then Err and Tian came back. We ordered our food and waiting hungrily.

Then Andika and AW came, that was when the plan to surprise Wen started. WJ was waiting for me near the Bread Talk (Andika said WJ is withdrawing some money). And I told them I wanna go the toilet, but actually I went to meet WJ and take the cake from our car (sorry to lie to you all girls, cannot tell you yet when Wen was still there =D). I couldn't find WJ at first, so I took the cake myself and search for him. After found the lost boy WJ, we came back to The Duck King. Asking the waitresses to bring the cake when we gave the signal.

After eating, we took some pictures and I asked WJ to give the signal (I cannot give the signal because I was beside Wenwen, afraid of her to hear if I talked to the waitress). The cake came, and Wen said she was really surprised when the cake came. We sang happy birthday for Wenwen, and the girls suddenly sang something in chinese (we, the F4, don't know that song). Then Wen blew her birthday candle. We gave a happy birthday card to her also. After that, we took some more picture, and Wen giving pieces of the birthday cakes to her friends. Then me and AW went downstairs to put the cake back to the car, when we came back upstairs, they're not there anymore, swt... So we went directly to Blitzmegaplex, and found them along with Lai and Lim. Surprisingly, Lim really looks like Andika, are you somehow brothers??? Hahaha... And then we watched the movie, it was The Black Book.

The movie was good, but took too long, 3 hours time! My back already stiff sitting there for 3 hours hahaha. During the movie, there is some scenes "not yet cut" by the sensor department, so there we can see "something" hahaha. Lai was really really happy I think, because he couldn't stop laughing and laughing and laughing! I also laugh because of his laughing hahaha. The movie ended at 6, and we came out right away.

After the movie, we didn't know what to do, because the next plan (karaoke) is on 8. Wen wanted to eat, but everyone was not hungry yet. So Err called the karaoke place and asked to move the plan to 7. Then we headed directly to the Dago Plaza where the karaoke place is. This time Lee Chin went with Lai and Lim via angkot. AW and WJ with motorcycle. Andika, me, Tzu, Tian, Wen and Err in my car. I wonder how can they all fit in the car, 5 people in the back seat??? But somehow they managed to cope it. Great job girls! After we arrived at the Dago Plaza, we quickly go to the karaoke place because it was almost 7. There we asked the waitress there whether we can bring the cake into the karaoke room. When it's confrimed, Andika and I went downstairs again to take the cake and bring it upstairs and found the girls already singing hahaha. The room 21 was so hot, the air conditioner was not on, and the room smell of smoke, ew yuck! So we moved to room 31 upstairs. Much bigger, colder, cozier, and no stupid smelly smoke.

Andika and I was forced to sing some songs. So we choose the easy ones. Unfortunately the "easy ones" song lyrics made us kinda gay! I'm straight dammit. Hahaha... After an hour, Lee Chin, Lai, and Lim arrived there and joined us immidiately, Lai sometimes sang with a really really low voice! Half an hour later, WJ and AW arrived there also. It was really hot in the room, Lee Chin and Tian cannot stand it, they go out and in the room several times. Hahaha. Lee Chin got dizzy because it was so hot, poor Lee Chin. And so, we sang until 10. Sang more than 30 songs I think. We had much fun there, had good laughter also, took some good photos and etc. So at last we called it a day, and came home after that, already too tired.

Lim and AW went home by themselves. WJ and Andika went home together, their places are nearby each other. While Lai, Wen, Tzu, Tian, Err, Lee Chin, and me with my car. Again, I don't know how the 5 girls fit with such a small and narrow backseat of the car. I took Tzu, Tian, and Lee Chin home first. Tian treated me as an angkot driver that time, hahaha. She always said "Kiri-kiri" all the time, that's why, I proudly give the title "Kirikiri" Tiantian to her. Hahaha, and she called me "Pak angkot", swt. Hahaha. In their place, Wen also came down to take her things. I had a little chat with Err and Lai there, about how I know Wen. Through Wen, I know Lai, and the others. Thanks there, Wen! I love making as much friends as I can.

After a while, Wen come out with a big big doll and also a bad news. The card we gave was left in the karaoke place. So we took Err back to her place first, and then back to Dago Plaza. Lai and Wen came down while I look around for a parking place, and found an empty place (actually it's not for parking, but I just use it without permission hahahaha, because there, I could see if Wen and Lai had came down). Luckily, Wen found the card, although it was already thrown to the garbage place by the karaoke waiters, so impolite they are!

So we went to Wen and Lai's place in Babakan Jeruk. After got many many thanks from Wen (you are most welcome, Wen :) ) I went home through the highway, very tired... I managed to get home by 15 minutes only. Arrived safe and sound and sleepy hahaha... Before going to bed, I add everyone's messenger, chat a bit with Wen, Lee Chin and Kirikiri Tiantian. Hehehe... Then I go to sleep...

It was really a long tiring day, but lots of joy, fun, laughter, new friends, and experiences. It was really a happy birthday for Shu Wen... I like hanging around with you all... Thanks for that day, thanks everyone!

Let's hang around again next time!
Your comments are mostly welcome!

New Blog New Posts

At last, after about one year not posting any blog, now I wanna post my first post in this blog!

A simple happy life...
It's just the way it has to be...

Those two sentences are enough to describe the life I have right now. I did not really enjoy this life at first, but looking back through things that I have done, things that I regret, and things that I really proud of; it is really a happy life for me.

I love my campus life, although sometimes very very busy and the assignments are overdose, but I enjoy it. All I need to do is start to like learning, why? Because I hate learning, hahaha...
I love my daily life and my family, although mostly spent in campus, my mom's busy, dad in Jakarta, and my bro busy with himself =P. My parents, thanks to you for everything. My cousins are the best (btw congratz for Ci Yayang, haven't congratulate you directly, may you have a lovely baby later, and it will be my little cute nephew/niece), I love hanging with you all. I'll be seeing you in the next chinese new year I guess.
